Closing Ceremony

Thank you Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen

First of all, I would like to express my grateful thanks to the members of local organization committee for their devotion to make ICEC 2006 so successful, friendly and fruitful.

Now, it my great honour to make an announcement regarding the next ICEC in the year of 2009. The conference venue will be Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, located in the northeast area of Japan. Between Tohoku University and China, we have a close relationship, because of the alumni from China, he is Lu Xun, a famous writer in China, although he has studied medical science in our university. I strongly believe that by holding the next ICEC in Sendai, it will strengthen the relationship between China and Tohoku University. But not only Chinese researchers and engineers, I would like to invite people from other areas, such ad Europe, US and the Asian countries, as well. Fortunately immediately before ICEC 2009, another international conference, Coastal Dynamics, will be held in Tokyo, in September. Thus, I wish many people to attend both of the conference consequentively to exchange our knowledge and experience on estuary and coastal engineering.

I am looking forward to seeing you again in Sendai, Japan
