Abstract

The Dachaoshan hydropower project is the 4th cascade hydropower station on the Lancang River. On its upper reach, there are two more reservoirs: Xiaowan and Manwan. Under proper consideration of Xiaowan and Manwan reservoirs, the sedimentation processes of Dachaoshan reservoir in the future 50 years is firstly simulated by 1-d mathematical model. The influence of Xiaowan and Manwan hydro-projects on the sedimentation of Dachaoshan reservoir is then analyzed by comparing the simulation results of two assumed scenarios including no reservoir upstream and single Manwan reservoir. Finally some useful knowledge about the inter-influence of cascade hydro-projects on the sedimentation, tail water level and hydropower generation is summarized.
