Abstract

In this paper, firstly some sediment depositing properties in the lower Yellow River are briefly stated, as well as the major functions of water and sediment diversion and the standardized dike project are analyzed. On the basis of these, it is attempted to discuss the relationship between the water and sediment diversion and the standardized dike project. It may be anticipated that the investigating results have the significance for improving the operating plans of Xiaolangdi reservoir and designing of the standardized dike project, so as to maintain the Yellow River’s ecological health systems.
