Abstract
A regulation engineering
laid in a branch will make the changes of the cross section and the resistance
of this branch. The variations of the section and the resistance cause the
variation of water level in bifurcation and diversion discharge in each branch.
The formula used to calculate the local resistant and the backwater caused by
the regulation engineering are derived this paper. According to the site of the
engineering laid in branch, the water level (or backwater value) at the
bifurcation region and the diversion discharge of each branch can be
determined. As an example, the above methods are used to calculate the water
level and diversion discharge after regulation engineering in branching river
model. The comparison between the calculation results with the measurements in
shows that the calculation value agrees well with the measure value in model.
