Abstract
In this
paper, the main framework of the Digital Yangtze River Basin Flood Forecast
System (DYRBFFS) with long forecast period and high forecast precision has been
proposed, which aims at many key problems on the Yangtze River, such as water
resources forecast and distribution, flood disaster analysis and evaluation,
and flood forecast etc. DYRBFFS considers synthetically characteristics of the
Yangtze River Basin, including upstream vegetation, river network, hydraulic
and hydropower projects and the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, and at
the same time DYRBFFS utilizes hydrodynamics, riverbed evolution forecast
method, hydrology real-time updating method, real-time adjustment method of complex
boundary condition and numerical visualization. Basic results show that DYRBFFS
based on this main framework, which has longer forecast period, higher forecast
precision and excellent abilities of solving problem, can give an exact and
timely flood forecast and provide scientific gist and technological guarantee
for flood control on the Yangtze River.
