Abstract
This article addresses the long-series
sediment model research carried out for the dam region of the Three Gorges
Project in the medium-posterior period of the project operation, when the
underground power plant is put in utilization. The emphasis of the research has
been placed on the sediment deposition and flow pattern upstream of the dam and
the deposition topography in front of the inlet of the power plant, the surface
velocity and flow pattern in front of the dam, the sediment concentration and
grain diameter of the flow passing through the hydro generator sets etc.
According to research results, some optimizing advices are put forward for
improving diversion condition of the underground power plant in the posterior
period of project operation.
