Abstract

The calculation methodology and visualization of river bed evolvement analysis module is an important part of Changjiang Hydrologic and Sediment Information Analysis and Management System.

Firstly, DEM and the management mode on spatial data and attribute data of channel topography are introduced. Then the calculation methodology and visualization of channel storage, the quantity and depth of scouring and sedimentation, and discretionarily graph plotting of any cross section are analyzed and researched systematically based on GIS.

The study has been widely applied in many engineering research fields and many delightful achievements have been achieved, and it has brought many economic and social benefits in application.
