Abstract

For the computation of the morphological change in river or reservoir beds, due to erosion or deposition, a hydrodynamic model is combined with the sediment continuity equation. For the solution of the governing equations, the high accuracy scheme HAUC2 by using the undetermined coefficient method is tested .The whole mathematical model is applied to one experimental case and to a real case. The first case concerns the dam break flow in a laboratory channel. The real case concerns the sediment transport from 1995 to 1997 in Lubuge reservoir.
