Abstract

The factors influencing sediment dry density are completely analyzed, and they show that slurry limiting concentration is one of the important indexes affecting dry sediment density. Based on the transformation rule of the turbid gravity and sediment concentration, the relationship between sediment dry density and slurry concentration is established. Moreover, the concentration and the limiting concentration of slurry are connected preferably; and the calculation formula including such factors as sediment grain size, graduation, shape and so on, is obtained. Validating analysis makes it clear that the result of the formula is in accordance with field data. So it has some theoretical and actually application value.
