Abstract

A 3-D water flows and sediment transportation numerical model is adopted to simulate the tidal current and sediment movement of coastal areas around Rizhao Port of China. As presented here, the characteristics of 3-D tidal current and the complicate sediment transport of this sea area can be revealed reasonably by this mode. Verification shows that the computed results are accordance with the practical. One of the conclusions is that this model can be used reasonably to simulate and predict tidal current and sediment movement in coastal areas around Rizhao Port.
