Abstract

Status of sedimentation rate in Green Island Bay, Roxas, Palawan was assessed by considering four rivers to include Barbacan, Caramay, Rizal and Tinitian for a course of one year.

Results showed that Barbacan and Caramay Rivers had consistent rates of sediments being carried into Green Island Bay although they had the lower rates of sedimentation compared to Rizal and Tinitian Rivers particularly during the months of October 2004 and February 2005.

Thus, the formed barrier in the mouth of Barbacan and Caramay Rivers probably had the significant effect in the sedimentation rate of rivers understudy.
