Abstract

Two-dimensional (plain) hydrodynamic model to calculate the field of velocities, discharges, levels, geometry of free surface, concentration of suspended material in natural water objects of arbitrary configuration or their part has been developed. Spatial scales of hydrodynamic processes are defined by the specific nature of the water objects under study as well as the investigation goals’ set. The model allows us to construct a series of computer-based models for describing flow kinematics and bed deformations at the river’s sites. The obtained models were used for assessment and prediction of riverbed processes during engineering activities at the Altai Krai rivers.
