Abstract

The paper deals with specific aspects of fluviomorphological processes occurring at interaction of road and bridge structures with an environment. A new classification of structures based on their position relative the axis of river valley and degree water flowing change has been developed. The most important issues in road sedimentology – forecast of general scour and erosion at surface channels along embankments are reviewed. Methods of scour assessment are presented.
