Abstract
Nowadays, there are
three totally different views when it comes to the problem of the impact of
specific weight towards underwater angle of repose of sediment. Due to the
abnormal variation of light sands, it is hard to get a reasonable explanation
to define the general ideal that underwater angle of repose and grain diameter
is directly proportional. Based upon the wedge pile-up model and considering
the effect of binding power, we had set a formulation of underwater angle of
repose, through forces analysis, which is suit to the sediment of cohesive and
non-cohesive. Through computation analysis, we can see that the formulation can
explain the different phenomena perfectly and unify those different views. Verification
analysis demonstrates that the rule reflected by the formulation and
observation data is coincident. It proves that the formulation has its
practical value.
