Abstract
This paper is
concerned with some issues concerning the relationship of the sediment runoff,
the degree of erosion dissection, and denudation intensity in the mountainous
part of the Eastern Sayan
region, as well as the characteristic features of excessive compensation of
tectonic depressions by river sediment loads. An assessment is made of the
consequences of such sedimentations in terms of plane deformations, the forking
of river channels, the bogging up of adjacent areas, and disastrous floods.
