Abstract

China has the most serious soil erosion in the world. However it is also a country with with glorious historical and rich experience at soil erosion control. In this paper, soil erosion and river sediment load are briefly introduced, as well as the status quo and future prospects of sediment management. Since entering the 21st century, the river sediment transportation and deposition rules are undergoing significant change by the impact of human activities. By the further research of sediment movement rules, we will make a profound understanding of river silt.
