Abstract

The analysis of extensive database on river suspended sediment yield has allowed to reveal a number of the basic global regularities of its formation, first of all such as dependence on climatic and landscape conditions, geological and geomorphic structure, river basin area. Besides, the spatial variability of suspended sediment yield from various continents into the World Ocean and contemporary trend changes of intensity of erosion and suspended sediment yield are analyzed; two principal morphological-dynamic types of erosion systems are established.
