General information
Introduction to Beijing
Beijing (Peking) is
one of the great cities of the world and famous for its long history
and splendid culture. It has been the capital for the last 700
years. Its long history has endowed the city with countless historic
and scenic spots. Beijing is filled with great monuments, palaces,
temples and reminders of the past glory of imperial China.
The largest and best
preserved ancient palace are such as the Imperial Palace, the most
well preserved royal garden, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer
Palace, and the world-famous Great
Wall. Beijing is the
host city to the 2008 Olympic Games. Under the theme of “Green
Olympics, Hi-Tech Olympics and People’s Olympics, great changes are
taking place in Beijing. We are seeing not only high-speed economic
development but also enhanced friendship between the Chinese people
and people around the world.



Lodging:
Jinling and Xiyuan hotels are recommended to participants during the
workshop.
Jinling Hotel is a two-star hotel which is within a 5 minute walking
distance from IRTCES building. The single room rate is about
US$40/night including Chinese breakfast.
Xiyuan
Hotel is a four-star hotel which is within a 15 minutes walking
distance from IRTCES building. The single room rate is about

Passport and Visa
A
valid passport and visa for visiting China are required. Upon
receiving your registration form, LOC will sent you an official
invitation letter for visa application at the nearest Chinese
Embassy or Consulate. Please allow an adequate time to get your
visa.
Insurance, Security and Safety
Participants are required to have sufficient insurance to cover
medical needs, accidental events, and other losses.
